Be Still My Heart And Know

                  Oh My Father

My soul, Oh My Father, searches!

My heart, Oh My Father aches!

While the world goes on breathing.

All is well! All is well.

How is all well? How is anything well? I am so less than You created. Oh every cell in my body screams out that I was created for so much more than this…than this…

Jesus, did YOU ever feel like this? Did YOU ever wake up and wonder what on earth YOU were doing here, what YOU should do, even how the next minutes or seconds should go? Were YOU ever overwhelmed by the smallest thing? Laundry? Dishes? Work? How…How…tell me how YOU knew what to do, how to live, how to love, what to live and love for? Oh My Jesus…Oh My Jesus…

I’m alone here, Lord. Here with fancy words from fancy ads on tv, fancy religious expressions from Hillsong hymns that hit home and make me feel empty and useless. Let me know that YOU understand. Let me know that YOU have been here. I want to be an important thought. I want YOU to say one day, “Well done My good and faithful daughter.”

“This new perspective is what we can call faith. It does not create new things but it adds a new dimension to the basic realities of life. It brings out fragmented personality into a meaningful whole, unifies our divided self. It is the source of inspiration for a searching  mind, the basis for a creative community and a constant incentive for an on-going renewal of life.”  Henri Nouwen
