Show me the place where there are green pastures, let me know restful waters, lead me out to nourishing grass and call me by my name so that I can hear your voice…*

Vision

– Set me on my knees that I might praise the work of Your Hand in my life, in the lives around me. Then stand me on my feet, unafraid and determined to live this life You have set before me – the You in me. Let me live the life of flesh and blood meeting the swift white wings of Your angels…to just do it! *

Mission

– May I put away my former way of life, my old self, corrupt and deluded by lusts, and to be renewed in the spirit of my mind and to clothe myself with the new self, created according to the likeness of You, God, in true righteousness and holiness. *

Values

– God our Father, work is your gift to me, a call to new heights by using my talents for the good of all. Guide me as I work and teach  me me to live in the spirit that has made me your daughter, in the love that has made the world my brothers and sisters. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen. *

There is this last thing I’d like to share. My walk as a human, my walk as a Christian, as a Christian woman has been ear-marked with so much doubt…the “I’m not enough”, the “I can’t”, the “why bother” and “if only”. Yet I search on for reasons to try or try harder, even now when I am in my seventies. I have few friends to fall back on, fewer mentors or role models. But today I came across this speech by Simon Sinek. I don’t care what his religious affiliation is. He is speaking to my heart and soul, speaking to my hopes and dreams.

Bibliography

My routine has changed over the years from reading the psalms as the Benidictine monks used to, dividing the psalms into parts of the day over a week’s time, to reading  the bible every morning before getting up, to today’s routine which is meditating, listening to the Invitatory of the Divine Office, and then reading excerpts from certain books, journaling all the while.

These are the main books I use, all the Kindle version.
